Samson Siasia, star of the USA ’94 World Cup has said that Sia 1 academy will fly the Nigerian flag at this year’s Dana Cup in Denmark, as he noted the tournament will give exposure to young footballers, totorinews.com report.
In an exclusive chat with totorinews.com, Siasia said Dana Cup is a globally recognised football tournament and many European clubs do send their scouts and agents to monitor the football talents that will be paraded all through the tournament.
The former coach of the Super Eagles also informed that the young talented players that Sia 1 academy selected after a football tournament two weeks ago in Abuja are capable of being  good ambassadors of Nigerian football in Denmark.
“We did Sia 1 football tournament two weeks ago and we were able to select very good players that will represent Nigeria at this year’s Dana Cup in Denmark.” Siasia said.
“The tournament is a platform where clubs in Europe will come and pick talented players. These clubs do this every year. Most football scouts and agents are always around at the tournament to select players that can be developed to become stars of the game in the future.
“It is a chance for young Nigerian players to get the experience and exposure they need to excel in their football career.
“Though funding of the team to Denmark for the tournament is huge but we are already discussing with some organisations and individuals to support this noble football project. Hopefully, everything will work out fine,” he said.
The tournament will hold between July 22 -27 and registration fees of $400.00 must be paid by all the participating teams and registration ends on May 1.
