Proper selection by Gernot Rohr and determination in the camp of the Super Eagles can make the team to triumph at the 2019 AFCON tournament to be hosted by Egypt in June is the candid opinion of Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, the chairman of Anambra State Football Association, totorinews reports.
Dr. Ubah disclosed this while speaking to some online publishers in Abuja on Friday, as he emphasized that the team and the technical crew must work very hard if Nigeria must conquer on the African continent again, noting that football has become very competitive.
“The most important thing right now is that football has become very competitive trend globally and everybody wants to make a name for himself. If we have proper selection and the determination to conquer, there is no harm in saying that the team will go far in the Nations Cup” Dr. Ubah said.
“But we must also understand and have it in our minds that other African nations are also working hard, the way we are also working. So, we should not dwell over any other victories or successes we have recorded in the last few years as a template for us to achieve our aims in Egypt.
“My own input is that we must work hard. Get the right selection and remove partiality in our selection,” he said.
The draw for the 2019 AFCON tournament will be made next week Friday in Cairo.
