Abia, former Minnesota Thunder player in the United States, admonished young footballers to continue to train hard and remain focused, if they want to achieve the dream of playing in foreign leagues in Europe, adding that one of the easy paths of playing football abroad is to be selected in a genuine scouting tournament.
“The standard of football at the grassroot is very high. I have seen players with lots of determination and hunger to succeed. I have seen that these players are determined to step up from nothing to something in the future,” Abia said in an exclusive interview with www.totorinews.com in Abuja.
“In this scouting tournament, the players did not pay any money to participate. All expenses have been paid for. In 5D Global Football Management, we give not because we have a lot, but because we care a lot,” he added.
“It will be a personal success if i see any of these young players that we will transfer make it big in Europe. That has always been my dream.
The Director of 5D Global Football Management further revealed that if any player is selected during this scouting tournament, it becomes easier for the player to sign abroad, if he can prove that the football he displayed in Nigeria was not a fluke and perform at this same high standard in Europe.
“The best thing is for a grassroot footballer to go through this type of scouting football tournament and they scout you, you have higher chance to succeed. It is like 70% possibility already.
“You just have to play the same way the scouts saw you did in your country or take it higher when you play in the presence of the officials at the European club and things will go your way to be signed,” he concluded.
