After an illustrious 24-year career, Nigerian football icon Olufemi Thomas has announced his decision to hang up his gloves at the end of the season. The veteran goalkeeper has had a storied career, spanning 22 seasons in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Thomas’s impressive resume boasts two NPFL titles and three FA Cup wins. He has played for several top-tier clubs, including Nasarawa United, Ocean Boys FC, Enyimba FC, Rivers United, Enugu Rangers, Heartland FC, and Abia Warriors.
As he prepares to bid farewell to the beautiful game, Thomas has been included in the Abia Warriors squad for the upcoming FA Cup final, giving him one last chance to don his gloves and showcase his expertise.
Olufemi Thomas’s dedication, passion, and contributions to Nigerian football have earned him legendary status. His retirement marks the end of an era, and he will be deeply missed by fans, teammates, and opponents alike.
