Qatar Football Academy of Bornu state and Greatness Sporting Club of Ebonyi state will face off each other when they meet at the finals of the 10th Senate President U-18 Boys Unity Cup on Sunday.
In a make-or-mar semi final tie witnessed on Friday saw the Bornu-based team defeated Tanko Baba Academy of Nasarawa state by one goal to nil with Khalifa Muktar’s 30 yards strike separating both sides.
The second semi final game between Kebbi Selected of Kebbi state and Greatness Sporting Club of Ebonyi state was decided by penalties as both teams couldn’t find the back of the net at the end of regulation time.
It was no doubt the most intensed and toughest game so far, as both teams showcased their ‘technical battle’, energy and desperation.
At the shootout, Greatness Sporting Club of Ebonyi state proved to be the better side as they triumphed 8-7 on penalties.
Sunday, 17th November will be the grand finale as the third place match will see Tanko Baba Academy of Nasarawa tackle Kebbi Selected of Kebbi state at 2pm, while the final game will be between Qatar Football Academy of Bornu state against Greatness Sporting Club of Ebonyi state at 4pm.
