Winning AFCON is a short term plan – Ijeh

Former Super Eagles player, Peter Ijeh has charged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to focus more on grassroots football development in the country, not just concentrating on Super Eagles to win 2019 AFCON, which can only be a short term joy.

In a chat with totorinews.com, Ijeh said that NFF should deploy resources to discover and develop more football talents at the grassroot in Nigeria, which should be the long term plan for the football authority and this will yield more benefits and long term joy for all the football Stakeholders in the country.

“Winning the Nations Cup is a one time thing and a short term plan. But building bridges for progression of grassroots developmental soccer pyramid for the categories of the national teams is the only way that Nigeria will rediscover magnificent talents and potentials and a long term solution.”Ijeh said.
