The need to tell a positive narrative about the insurgent in North East especially in the Adamawa and Borno states axis made him to connect Garoua from Yola by boat says Aminu Kurfi Balele, the chairman of Katsina Football Association, reports www.totorinews.com exclusively.
Kurfi Balele popularly called Dan Arewa by his admirers in the political arena, said that most of the conflicts in the region are exaggerated to paint a bad image of the country to the outside world, but the reality is that, there is relative safety in most parts of the North East region.
” it is all good to send a message that Nigeria will overcome all her challenges in the area of insecurity. As you can see, Adamawa state is peaceful,” Kurfi Balele told www.totorinews.com.
“I travelled by boat to Garoua to see for myself that the government has really tried to tackle insurgency in the North East and it is good for Nigerians and the entire world to know this.
“I had to ride bike within the Yola metropolis to the river bank. It was all fun.
“Football is a great force. The AFCON in Cameroon is a platform to celebrate African football at it’s best and I’m here to give the Super Eagles all the maximum support they need to excel.
He further admonished every football loving Nigerian to give the Super Eagles all the supports needed to perform excellently well and pray for the success of the team.
“We may not have the best players on paper, but we know that we parade very good set of players. Most of them making their debuts at this edition of AFCON and it is very good to support the team and also pray for their success.
“We hope that the Super Eagles give Nigerians something to cheer against Egypt at the end of 90minutes,” he said.
The Super Eagles will file out against the Pharoahs of Egypt i her first game in Group D at the Stade Roumdé Adjia on Tuesday by 5pm.
