After beating Pharoahs of Egypt 1-0 in the opening cracker in group b, Austin Eguavoen has revealed what he told the Super Eagles when he resumed as the interim coach of the team, reports www.totorinews.com.
According to the 1994 world cup player, he told the players to see him as their brother and father and for the team to have strong unity of purpose in the quest to win the AFCON for Nigeria for the 4th time.
“I told the players to see me as their brother and father, my assistant I called them my colleagues,” Austin Eguavoen said
“We have a path towards the same direction, we have the privilege to serve the country and we must always give our best.
“The same set of players, every coach have their style, philosophy and leadership.
Speaking on the support given to the team in Garoua, Eguavoen said that it has been awesome.
“The reception has been great since we arrived in Garoua, it has been an interesting AFCON from the first game,” he said.
