Engineer Stanley Inyang, the PDP chapter chairman of the Ikot Abasi local government area, shared his insights during an exclusive interview with www.totorinews.com at the Ikot Abasi Government Field.

As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gears up for the October 5 local government elections, Inyang revealed the challenges of bringing democracy’s benefits to the people of Ikot Abasi.

“The most pressing issue is the high cost of living in Nigeria,” Inyang emphasized. “The prices of staple foods like rice, garri, and beans continue to skyrocket, making it difficult for the average person to make ends meet.” This concern is echoed by many Nigerians, as the country faces its worst cost-of-living crisis in decades

Inyang stressed that the PDP’s national takeover is crucial to addressing these issues. “If we continue down this path, the average Nigerian might not be able to provide for their family in the next three years,” he warned.

As Nigeria celebrated her 64th birthday, Inyang reflected on what the nation should celebrate. “Until democracy is truly practiced in this country, we can’t genuinely celebrate Nigeria as a nation,” he said.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Inyang expressed confidence in the PDP’s preparedness. “Governor Pastor Umo Eno is committed to fielding the best candidates,” he noted. “Our chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ime Williamson Essien, has worked with top experts to develop a blueprint addressing the local government’s pressing issues.”

With the APC seeking to gain power in Ikot Abasi, Inyang assured that the PDP is poised to maintain its stronghold.

“We are focused on ensuring the people of Ikot Abasi continue to support the PDP at all levels,” he concluded.
