Richard Odoh, the goalkeeper of the Golden Eaglets, Yahaya Lawali, Emmanuel Michael and Jeremiah Olaleke, who all played in the defence made the team of the tournament.
Abdullahi Idris, who scored a brace in the final against Burkina Faso completed the fantastic five and Nduka Ugbade was overwhelming adjudged the coach of the tournament.
Nigeria scored 12 goals in the tournament, only conceeded five goals and the team captivated football loving West Africans with their robust style of football.
