Watching him during the training sessions of the Super Eagles in Abuja, there is no denying the fact that Uche Onwuasonaya is a very energetic and skillful midfielder worthy of his invitation to the national team.
The attacking midfielder that plies his trade with Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has all the attributes of a midfielder with a great future in the round leather game judging by his enterprising displays for his club this season.
And he appears to be a player destined for the big stage of his career as Nigeria tackles Mexico in an International friendly game in the United States.
Everything working out fine, football loving Nigerians should not be surprised to see the former Kwara United midfielder in the thick of the action against the North American football power house.
His work rate on the pitch is top notch as a midfielder helping the defence and linking up with the attack in a box to box playing style, added with his defence splitting passes in search of the attackers and powerful shots from his thunderous right foot.
It will be a great test of character to see how he will perform against the Mexicans if given the opportunity by the technical crew of the Super Eagles to have a taste of the action slated for the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (LA Coliseum) on July 4.
