Jose Peseiro, the gaffer of the Super Eagles has given hint that some players in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) are being watched closely with the possibility of being invited to the Super Eagles.

He disclosed this during the media parley in Portugal where the team is preparing to engage both Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in friendly games to utilise the FIFA window.

The Portuguese revealed that he saw some good players during the last season and at the Super 6 tournament in Lagos, but the challenge is, if they can maintain good performance in the group of players within the national team.

“I have list of players in the Nigerian league because I watched some matches during the last Super 6 tournament in Lagos. I watched the final. I had the opportunity to watch six teams. We have good players,” Peseiro said.

“At least, I have two – three players that I watched in each position.

“But you need to compare the quality they showed in the league is the same quality in the national team. Some players can play well in clubs and they come to the national team, they don’t play well.

“It happens in the world. The league started already in Nigeria. It is not easy. You checked if the player can keep with the same level of good performance.

“I have the list of players in the league. I was with Finidi George yesterday and I checked the list with him.

“Everytime I watched Nigeria league match, I sent the report to the NFF. The door of the Super Eagles is opened for every player, whether foreign or Nigeria league based,” he said.
