Super Eagles Defender Signs For Crawley Town

In a landmark transfer deal, Nigerian defender Benjamin Tanimu has signed with English League One side Crawley Town from Tanzanian outfit Singida Black Stars for a whopping $850,000 www.totorinews.com reports. The 22-year-old has penned a contract until the summer of 2026, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Singida Black Stars CEO Jonathan M. Kassano announced the transfer, revealing that the deal includes a direct transfer fee, a 20% sell-on fee, and performance-related bonuses for the next two seasons. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of football between the two clubs.

 

Tanimu, who has already joined his new team in England, boasts an impressive resume, having risen through the ranks of Eagle Wings and Bendel Insurance. He won the Nigeria National League and Nigeria Federation Cup during his six-year stint with Bendel Insurance before moving to Singida BS for a reported $70,000.

 

With three caps for Nigeria, including a debut in a 2-1 friendly win over Ghana, Tanimu is poised to make a significant impact at Crawley Town. The management of Singida Black Stars wishes him success in his new chapter in England.
