Sodje congratulates Dare, Okowa over Nigeria’s rise in athletics

Chief Sunday Dare

The Athletics World Ranking recently released by the world Athletics body shows a clear and undisputed improvement in the fortunes of Nigeria Athletics, this being due to the unrelenting efforts of Mr. Sunday Dare, the Honourble Minister of Youths and Sports Development.

One cannot easily forget the very successful outing of the Nigerian contingent at the last year’s Commonwealth Games that was held in Birmingham, United Kingdom where Nigeria Athletes shun like a Million Star.

It is now on record that Nigeria had her best outing at that event in the history of the Commonwealth Games not only coming home with the highest numbers of medals but also getting world record in the 100m Hundles events through the brialliant efforts of our golden girl Miss Tobi Amosun, the current African Sports person of 2022.

Furthermore and coming on the back of the veriouse International Athletics events, the Honourble Minister rounded off the year 2022 by supervising the organization and execution of the successful National Sports Festival which was hosted by the hard working Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Sen.(Dr) Infeayi Okowa, in Asaba, Delta State where veriouse numbers of upcoming Athletes came, saw and conquered by posting different national and games records.

Personally, It was infact a great honour to be in the company of this great Piller of sports through the international and national above mentioned events as I was able to use the opportunity to see the master of Sports Administration at work.

The experience that I got working with the Honourble Minister during these period will remain invaluable to me as I embark on my own journey of self development in sports administration going forward.

I want to therefore use this opportunity to congratulate our amiable Honourable Minister, Staff of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development and of course the President of The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Tony Okowa for a very successful 2022.
