The scintillating performance of Sadiq Umar in the colours of US Almeria of Spain, where he scored five goals and two assists in February has earned the Super Eagles striker the player of the month award, www.totorinews.com reports.
The 25-year-old striker was very vital to his club side, UD Almeria, helping the team to four victories during the month under review and he was very instrumental to the seven goals out of the eight goals scored by his team.
Sadiq beat SD Huesca’s Jaime Seoane and SD Eibar’s Jose Corpas to win the monthly individual award in Seguda, Spain, where his team is currently leading the table in their quest to gain promotion to La Liga at the end of season.
The former AS Roma striker is one of the players invited to the Super Eagles camp for the final World Cup playoff against Ghana and it is hoped that he will reenact his goals scoring form for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
