Promise Nwachukwu, GM of Heartland FC

The main project of Heartland FC in the Nigeria National League ( NNL) this season is to gain promotion back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), says Promise Nwachukwu, the General Manager of the team, reports www.totorinews.com.

Nwachukwu disclosed this in an interview with the media in Abuja during the induction seminar of the new teams in the NNL organised by the league secretariat, he said that the task ahead is to have players that will deliver this mandate at the end of the season in NNL.

“Our main plan is a project to take Heartland Fc back to the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) that is where we belong. We don’t have double plans, but the project to take back Heartland Fc to the elite league in Nigeria,” Nwachukwu said.

“We are glad that the players we are recruiting are aware of the task ahead of us. We are trying to get players that are committed to this project.

Speaking further, he praised the efforts of Governor Hope Uzodinmma who has provided the new camp for the team and also made it easy for the players to start getting their salaries at the same time with the civil servants in the state.

“I am glad to inform that the Governor of Imo State is a lover of football, who is passionate and committed to the fortunes of Heartland. The government has made it that once the civil servants are getting their salaries, our players too shall get theirs.

“We have gotten a new camp, two storey building, brand new one. We played Abia Warriors last week and we drew the game goalless. The management of Abia Warriors were very impressed with the performance of Heartland Fc.

“We are very optimistic of  better fortunes to get back to the NPFL,” he said.
