Outrage, anger as court stops NFF AGM in Lagos

As the NFF leadership come to terms with a court order restraining the Annual General Assembly of the body from holding today, a cross section of football lovers, enthusiasts and stakeholders have expressed outrage over the development, reports www.totorinews.com.

A stakeholder, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the NFF should do the needful, by approaching a higher court to vacate the order.
Another stakeholder, member of the NFF congress, opined that it was high time the NFF leadership stand up to the occasion, by following due process to freeze out these disgruntled elements from all football-related activities.

Continuing, he said the issue of distraction is becoming a recurrent decimal in every AFCON/World Cup year.

When some officials of Nigeria’s Glass House were approached for their comments over the botched AGM in Lagos, they adopted a “let’s-wait-and-see” stance, insisting that the legal department of the Federation, in synergy with the Executive Committee  will speak on the matter soon.

It will be recalled that many delegates to the annual AGM, made up of State FA Chairmen, Secretaries, Representatives of the various leagues, Referees, Coaches and players Union, were already heading to Lagos, when a WhatsApp message was circulated, asking them to stay put until further notice.

It remains to be seen who will blink first, between the football authorities and the renegade who are bent on putting spanners in the good works of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF Board.
