NPFL : Starting On Winning Form Is My Headache, Not Abridged League – Club Chairman

Feelers reaching www.totorinews.com indicates that clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) have decided to go ahead with the abridged league format proposed by the Interim Management Company, (IMC), with match one fixtures scheduled for this weekend.

This was disclosed to www.totorinews.com by a chairman of NPFL club in North Central, who prefers to be annoymous, as he revealed that winning the first game of the season is his biggest concern at the moment and not the abridged league format that will be administered by the IMC.

“Starting the league on a winning form is my headache. I am not bothered with the abridged league. It is very important that my team get the maximum points.

“This is abridged league. My focus is on the teams in my group, beginning from the first game. We don’t want to make any  mistake or be distracted by whether clubs will honour the fixtures or not.

“I can tell you that we are really intensifying our preparations for our first game.

Speaking on the N10b funding for the NPFL for 10 years, he said that it is a good development, but the clubs are yet to get the full details.

“If the IMC have secured N10B fund for the league through partnership, then let’s see how it goes. I think it is commendable, although I can’t say much about the  partnership.
