The Nigeria National League (NNL) board has officially confirmed the promotion of four clubs to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the relegation of 12 clubs to the National League One (NLO) for the 2024/2025 season www.totorinews.com reports.
The promoted clubs are Nasarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors, Beyond Limits, and Ikorodu City FC, who emerged champions of their respective groups in the Super Eight championships.
On the other hand, 12 clubs have been relegated to the NLO, including Stormers FC, Ekiti United FC, 1472 FC, FC One Rocket, Giant Brillars FC, Trade Safe FC, NAF FC, ABS FC, EFCC FC, Mailantarki Care FC, Jigawa Golden Stars, and City FC.
The NNL board has notified the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of the development and is preparing for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the promoted and relegated clubs will be formally received.
According to NNL chairman George Aluo, the board is committed to improving its performance from last season and has raised the standards for the upcoming season. He expressed confidence that the new season will be competitive and exciting, with many clubs poised to become “giant killers” in Nigerian football.
