Barely one month after being elected into the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, to represent the South-South zone, Hon. Utuekong Nse Udofot Essien, has played host to members of the South-South NLO League Owners Forum, reports www.totorinews.com.
The Forum congratulated Hon. Essien on his election into the NFF Board, while seeking ways to synergize with his office, in order to develop the game of football at the grassroots.
The Forum also congratulated the Ibrahim Gusau-led Board for the feats recorded by the national U-17 girls(the Flamingoes) in India and the CAF Confederation Cup first leg victory of Rivers United Fc over their Al Nasr Benghazi counterparts from Libya, of which Hon. Essien was the NFF leader of delegation in Port Harcourt.
The South-South NLO League Owners Forum, expressed the confidence that Hon. Essien, being a football club proprietor for many years and a serving lawmaker, understand the terrain, to be able to deliver on his mandate.
The Forum presented a template to Hon. Essien, that will serve as a-four year plan of action, on grassroots football development.
Responding, Hon. Essien thanked the Forum for the visit, which according to him, will go a long way in cross fertilisation of ideas and exchange of information, for overall football development, not only in the zone, but in the entire country.
Highlights of the short ceremony, which held in a wing of De Edge Hotel in Port Harcourt was the presentation of the document which serves as a road map, by Mr Eugene Eremionkhale, proprietor of Sunsel Fc, on behalf of the Forum.
The Forum revealed that a similar visit will be paid to Aisha Falode, the other elected Member of the Executive Committee of the NFF, in the coming days.
