Francis Achi

After spending two decades outside the shores of Nigeria, Oba Bolarinwa, Nigerian coach based in Japan has said that he is very familiar with Nigeria football culture and he is ready to combine it with that of Japanese football culture if given the opportunity to coach any of the age-grade teams of Nigeria.

Bolarinwa disclosed via Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece WhatsApp group that he is fully abreast with the culture of football in Nigeria and he has combined both the Japan and Nigeria football culture as a football technocrat in Japan.

“I am fully aware of the Nigeria football culture. I played for some clubs in Nigeria before I travelled out to play in Oman and I ended up coaching in Japan,” Bolarinwa said.

“I played for 3SC feeders, Prime FC, Stationery Stores and I know the football  culture  of Nigeria and this what i have inculcated into the players in my team in Japan,” he added.

Speaking on the decline of the age grade teams of Nigeria – the Flying Eagles and the Golden Eaglets, Bolarinwa said that adequate preparations should be given to the teams by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, adding that the federation must also monitor the coaches very well as they tinker the affairs of these sensitive teams.

“The results may have not been good in recent years for the Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets. I think what is needed is for the NFF to prepare these teams very well and also monitor the coaches appointed to the teams” he said.
