The Mali Football Federation has announced the termination of Sékou Chelle’s contract as the national team’s head coach, effective immediately. This decision comes after a thorough review of the team’s performance under Chelle’s leadership.
Chelle, who was appointed in May 2022, led the team to the quarterfinals of the 2023 African Cup of Nations. However, the federation has decided to go in a different direction, citing the need for a new direction and fresh perspective.
During his tenure, Chelle made significant contributions to the team, including guiding them to several notable victories. However, the federation has decided that it is time for a change.
A new head coach will be announced in due course, and the federation is confident that the incoming coach will bring the necessary expertise and leadership to take the team to the next level.
The Mali Football Federation would like to thank Sékou Chelle for his service and wishes him the best in his future endeavors.
The search for a new head coach is underway, and the federation is committed to finding the right candidate to lead the team forward. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
