Atalanta were determined to cancel the goal deficit and their efforts paid off when Lookman restored parity in the 53rd minute after being set up by Hans Hateboer.
Super Eagles striker, Osimhen was introduced into the game in the 64th minute after replacing Giacome Rapsadori.
The lethal weapon immediately made his presence felt, as he troubled the Atalanta defence. Although he could not score, his assist led to the second goal scored by Eijif Elmas in the 79th minute which sealed victory for Napoli.
The win takes Napoli to the 4th position on 24 points after 13 games, while Atalanta trails behind on 5th position with 20 points from the same number of games.
