The Kwara State Government has pledged to partner relevant groups, individuals and Stakeholders to promote the nation’s football national teams .
Deputy Governor Mr Kayode Alabi Stated this on Thursday in Ilorin while receiving in audience of the Kwara State Chapter of the Super Eagles Supporters Club in his office.
Mr Kayode Alabi who reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to football development, promised to be part of the state’s Chapter of the Super Eagles Supporters Club and expressed the desire of government to Support them to achieve the purpose for which it was established.
He noted that the State is blessed with sport loving Governor who is passionate and committed to the programmes and policies aimed at encouraging Sporting activities from the grassroots, urging the Club not to relent in supporting the nation’s football national teams to qualify for major tournaments and Competitions.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji had told the Deputy Governor of the Support of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq to Kwara popular mascot to AFCON 2021 in Cameroon, noting that the effort is geared towards Supporting the growth of football and to further showcase the talents in the State to the outside world.
Mallam Bola Magaji stressed that the State will continue to partner Progressive minded groups such as that of Vincent Okumagna led Super Eagles Supporters Club to Promote the game.
Also Speaking, the Interim coordinator of the Club, Mr Abdul Momoh who spoke through acting Secretary, Mr Yomi Benson, said the Club is an avenue to develop career in Sporting activities apart from Supporting the national teams to hoist the nation’s flag in the major Championships , noting that it will also be championing the Campaign against Malarial which is another focus of Vincent Okumagba’s led National board of the Club which is inline with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration.
He later Confirmed that the official inauguration of the Kwara State Chapter of Super Eagles Supporters Club will hold next month and requested government to Support them to witness a hitch free inauguration
