The match day 1 fixture at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna state between Jigawa Golden stars and Sunshine Stars of Akure has been described as a quality football on display by Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi, www.totorinews.com reports.
Kurfi, a member of technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF was one of the top football dignitaries that watched the action packed encounter of 90 minutes that saw Jigawa Stars beating Sunshine Stars by a lone goal scored by Onukwube Samuel Stone in the 76th minute.
“It was a good game. The standard of football was high and a very thrilling performance from both teams,” Kurfi told Totori News after the game.
The chairman of Katsina state football association also informed that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is the pride of Nigeria and every football stakeholder should support the noble innovations being packaged by the League Management Company this season.
“NPFL is our pride and all the football stakeholders must rally support for what the League Management Company has mapped out to achieve this season,” he said.
