Indian actor Govinda accidentally shoots himself

Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda  is currently recovering at CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The incident occurred at 4:45 a.m. while Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata.

According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, Govinda was placing his revolver back in its case when he accidentally dropped it, causing it to fire. Fortunately, the hospital  authorities confirmed that the bullet has been removed, and Govinda is expected to recover.

The police have seized the weapon involved and are investigating the incident, although no formal complaint has been lodged.

Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time of the incident, has rushed to Mumbai to be by his side. She shared with the media that the actor is stable and undergoing treatment. Govinda’s manager also confirmed that the actor is doing well.

Currently, the actor’s daughter Tina Ahuja is with her father Govinda in the ICU providing recent updates on her father’s health improvements. Govinda will be staying in the hospital for the next 24 hours where doctors will make sure his speedy recovery.

This incident has shocked fans of the beloved actor, who rose to fame in the 1990s with his impeccable comedic timing and energetic dance moves. Some of his most popular films include Aankhen, Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Deewana Mastana, and Jodi No. 1.
