Newly signed goalkeeper Lucky Jimoh Abdullahi from Lobi Stars of Makurdi has been described as a great asset by a top Rangers official, www.totorinews.com reports.
The official who pleaded to be annoymous, informed that Rangers International FC of Enugu took their time before signing Abdullahi, whom they have been monitoring for the past two seasons.
He further said that Abdullahi was very outstanding in the home and away games Rangers played against Lobi Stars in the just concluded season, which intensified their efforts to sign the goalkeeper and it became a reality on Tuesday.
“I am very optimistic that Rangers made the right decision by signing Jimoh Abdullahi. The goalkeeper is very good. He is a good asset to Rangers.” the official said.
“We knew what we came across when Rangers played Lobi Stars last season both at home and away. Abdullahi denied us many goalscoring chances.
“There is no automatic shirt in Rangers. Any player newly signed or old player must work hard and fight for shirt. That is our tradition and i know that Abdullahi is capable,” he added.
