Gabify Foundation Partners Para Soccer Federation

There is a good news for para soccer in Nigeria after a Non -Governmental Organization, Gabify Foundation in collaboration with the Para Soccer Federation of Nigeria has organized a – one day Para Soccer exhibition match for people living with disability in the Federal Capital Territory, reports www.totorinews.com. 

The match which was played at the handball outdoor court of the package B of the Moshood Abiola national stadium on Thursday evening saw team Yellow beat team Blue 5-1 at Regulation time in a harmonious atmosphere.

Speaking to the media at the climax of the event, co-founder of Gabify Foundation, Mr Ifeanyi Amaobi said the foundation’s initiative is to help people living with disability to actively take part in sports and to equally give them a sense of belonging in the larger society.

“A lot of things inspired what we are doing today, we thought it wise to organize this game for them to let people know that people living with disability needs to play and enjoy sports”

“Sports is not just for the able, people living with disability can also play and enjoy the game”

Also speaking, Vice President of Para Soccer Federation of Nigeria, Mr Mansur Abdullahi thanked Gabify Foundation for their heart of benevolence towards people with special needs, he noted that the partnership is a sign of greater things to happen between the federation and other non governmental organizations.

“This is a marriage today, a marriage that is tied with Gabify Foundation and we quite appreciate them”
“The Federal government alone cannot do this, and as you can see, the game is very exciting”

“For a very long time we have never seen anything like this from any foundation, we appreciate Gabify Foundation and like Oliver twist, we’ll continue to ask for more”

It was further gathered that balls and jerseys were presented to the Federation by the Foundation and they are equally willing to have many of such partnerships with other sports in the nearest future.
