Augustine Njoku

Flying Eagles’ right ful back Augustine Njoku is very optimistic of a favourable result for Nigeria against Egypt in the second group game on Wednesday, reports www.totorinews.com.

Njoku is of the firm opinion that the team will show strong character and great attitude on the field that will ensure that they atone for the loss against Senegal on Sunday, as he added that the team is not under any pressure.

“We are not under pressure as we play Egypt, the host nation. Qatar was the host nation of the 2022 World Cup and the team did not make it from the first round,” Njoku told the media at the pre – match press conference in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday.

“We just have to show the right character and attitude that will make us win Egypt. We want to play very well and correct the error that happened in the game against Senegal.

Despite losing the first game, Njoku is still very positive of the Flying Eagles qualifying from the group, as he added that that qualifying for the FIFA U20 World Cup ìn Indonesia is the aim of every player and officials of the team.

“Our target is to pick the world cup ticket here in Egypt and if possible win the tournament. I want to appeal to Nigerians to keep on praying for the team.

“We are very hopeful of getting back on track with a good result against Egypt,” he said.
