Flying Eagles defeated their counterparts from Uganda to seal a world cup ticket to FIFA U-20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia in May, reports www.totorinews.com.

It was a quarter final clash at the on- going AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt on Wednesday evening and 30th minute own goal scored by Ibrahim Juba separated the two sides and paved way for Nigeria to qualify for the semi finals and the world cup.

It was a very tensed game where Uganda proved very difficult as they piled pressure on the defence. Chigozie Aniagboso in goal for the Flying Eagles was very calm and he rescued Nigeria with his saves, especially in the second half.

Flying Eagles also had opportunities to increase the tally in the second  half, but Ibrahim Muhammed  Beji, Olamilekan Adams were not clinical enough.

Uganda did not relent in search of the equaliser, but the defence of the Flying Eagles thwarted all their attacking forays till the referee signalled the end of the game.
