Babatunde Olaniyan, Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan

At a time when some Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs are still confused over the abridged league issue, Babatunde Olaniyan, chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has said that the club is ready to file out to the pitch for Match Day One fixtures today, reports www.totorinews.com

According to the astute football  administrator, the players and officials of 3SC have been in camp training and did not go on break for the yuletide due to the fact that the team know the herculean task ahead in the new season, adding that the team wants to tell the world that winning the NPFL Pre-Season in early December in Lagos was not a fluke.

“Our team is ready for the NPFL season. The players and coaches were not given Christmas break because we want them to be fully fit for the season. 3SC don’t mind to play her first game in the league today. We are ready,” Olaniyan told www.totorinews.com.

“We are happy to be back to NPFL and we are very glad that the team won the NPFL Pre-Season tournament in Lagos and it is our ultimate aim to repeat the same feat in the league.

“We have recruited very good players for every position and the club have a very experienced coach in Gbenga Ogunbote. We just hope that everything will work out fine for the team.

“The team is good to go. We are ready for the match day one fixture now,” he said.

Meanwhile, the NPFL draw for the new season is about to commence in Abuja at the time of filing this report.
