The exploits of FC Mavlon, Nationwide League One (NLO) side at the on- going training tour of Europe has caught the attention of some European clubs jostling for the signature of Charles Agada, www.totorinews.com reports exclusively.
Agada, 15 – year old striker in the team is the cynosure of all eyes at the city of Bansko, Bulgaria where the team have played six games against five Bulgarian clubs and one from North Macedonia. The young teenage striker has scored six goals and three assists so far.
Naturally built like the famous Romario, who helped Brazil to win the USA 1994 World Cup and with similar football skills of the Brazilian football icon, it is therefore not surprising that European clubs in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and France have already made enquires about the striker.
Agada was very pivotal in the attack of FC Mavlon against CSKA Sofia 1948 in the friendly game played on Sunday. He scored a brace and was instrumental to the penalty awarded to FC Mavlon, which was converted by his teammate, Isaac Ayuma in the 3-1 demolition of the Bulgarian side.
Speaking to the Bulgarian media after the game, Agada informed that he was glad to score two goals and he hopes to improve his football, adding that the training tour of Europe has really helped in boosting his confidence of developing his game in Europe in the nearest possible future.
“My job is to score goals as a striker and it is good that I scored two goals to help my team to win. I thank FC Mavlon management for this opportunity of training tour in Europe,” Charles Agada said.
“Bulgaria is a beautiful country. This team we defeated is very good. We just had to play our game according to what our coach told us and we won the game,” he added.
Having seen him wearing jersey no.7, the Bulgarian journalist asked him why does he wear the number 7 jersey, of which Agada replied that Cristiano Ronaldo is the inspiration behind him wearing the number 7.
“I wear jersey no. 7 because of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is my role model. I love his style of football and he is a very disciplined as a professional football,” Agada responded.
“I want to keep working hard on my football. I look forward to the opportunities of developing my game and this is training tour has really helped me to see football at another level. The field here is very good for football,” he added with a smile.
The opportunities to take his football to another level is already knocking at the door after Paul Ogunlaja, the chief scout of FC Mavlon informed www.totorinews.com in an exclusive chat that some European clubs are serious about having the striker in their fold.
“Some clubs from four European countries have gotten in touch with the management of FC Mavlon. When clubs in France, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria calls about a young player, just know that it is a serious business,” Paul Ogunlaja told www.totorinews.com.
“But the goal of FC Mavlon remains the development of our players. We are happy that the efforts in bring this team to Europe for a training tour are already yielding fruits.
“We are very impressed with the cohesion in the play of the team and how they have fully adapted to the weather in Europe.
“The players are no longer jittery or having stage frights. The team have scored 12 goals in their last four games after failing to score in their two games played earlier.
“Scoring 12 goals in your last four games, with a young 15 – year striker accounting for six goals is one of the beautiful stories being told about Nigerian football in Bulgaria.
“Aside Agada, European clubs are equally interested in our other players, even the goal keeper is not left out because he has shown that Nigeria is also good at producing good goalkeepers.
“But as I said earlier, FC Mavlon want the best for her players and we are not in hurry to release them to European clubs. We will carefully study everything in order to avoid decisions that will jeopardise their development and great future,” he said.
