DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT HAVE EMPOWERED OVER 5,607 WIDOWS ACROSS THE STATE – ISIOMA OKONTA

The Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Delta State Governor and Secretary of the State’s Special Projects Commitee, Chief Isioma Okonta has revealed that the committee has been able to empower over 5,607 widows across the state in a bid to make them self independent.

In a media briefing with Journalists on the committee’s achievements, Chief Isioma Okonta made the disclosure today in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

“Everything you see us doing today is because of the kind of man that God Almighty has given to us as our Governor. He is a man who hates to see anyone suffering or going through pains and difficulties.” Okonta said.

“This was the very reason why this administration came up with this commitee in a bid to ensure that the suffering of the less-privileged among us is brought to the bearest minimum, if not totally wiped out.

“On a monthly basis, we give stipends to these widows and we have also succeeded in registering them for free medical treatment in their preferred hospitals across the state in a bid to ensure that they are always strong and healthy to go about their daily activities”, he continued.

Chief Okonta thanked the State Governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for delivering the dividents of democracy to the people which is evident across the 25 LGAs of the state.

He also applauded the Commitee’s Chairman, Hon. Henry Sakpra and Chief Festus Ochonogor who is a member of the committee for their dedication and resilience to ensuring the success of their programmes, as he also appealled to all Deltans, regardless of party affiliation to continue to give Governor Okowa all thr needed support in order for him to continue with his giant strides he is making in the state.
