Alhaji Kurfi and members of his immediate family on Saturday morning received shots of the COVID-19 vaccine in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after he receieved his dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine against the killer disease, the business mogul popularly called ‘Dan Arewa’ charged other football stakeholders in the country to do same in order to be protected against the killer virus.
Furthermore, Kurfi advised other Nigerians not to be sceptical about the efficacy of the vaccine or worry about their safety after they must have receieved their shots.
The astute football administrator reiterated that he and his family are all doing fine after having their jabs of the vaccine.
“I am happy to announce that my family and I have just recieved our doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine to protect us against the deadly coronavirus.
“Considering that some sceptics may wish to cast doubt over the efficacy or safety of the vaccine, I want to urge Nigerians to do way with such unnecessary doubts about the vaccine for their own good.
“Those responsible for the production of the life saving vaccine have put it through the necessary medical examinations and are confident and deeply convinced about its efficacy.
“I want to repeat that I and my family are in stable conditions without any side effect from the vaccine.
” I am, therefore, calling on all football stakeholders and other well meaning Nigerians to help in dispelling all unfounded rumours about the vaccine,” said Kurfi.
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Professor Yemi Osibanjo were the first to be administered with the COVID -19 vaccine on March 6 at the State House in Abuja.
