1983 can repeat itself on Friday – Eguavoen

Austin Eguavoen, the interim coach of the Super Eagles is vibrating with positive energy that what happened in 1983 can repeat itself at Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Friday, www.totorinews.com reports. 

Goals from Chibuzor Ehilegbu and John Omughele condemned the Black Stars of Ghana to 1-2 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium, which eliminated Ghana from 1984 Olympics football event, having played goalless draw in the first leg in Lagos.

“I have absolute positive energy that it is possible for Super Eagles to win in Kumasi just as it happened in 1983,” Eguavoen told www.totorinews.com in Abuja.

“The players have strong belief of getting good result in Kumasi. You can see in their attitude in training, very fantastic for the team and I’m very positive about the outcome of the game.

“We respect Ghana, there is no doubt about that. We want to win and win well against Ghana to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup,” he concluded.
